Winter-Spiced Herbal Spirits (Medicinal Rum)

sold out

Ingredients: white rum infused with - dandelion root, burdock root, ginger, hawthorn berry and flower, yarrow, rose hips, cinnamon, clove, and allspice.

This was recently inspired by my experience running an herbal cocktail/mocktail bar for my sweet friend’s wedding. It dawned on me, that yet again, herbal medicine can be incredibly versatile and quite fun if we make it that way. Did you know that cocktails were historically created in order for us to “take our medicine”? Alcohols have been infused with plants for longer than we tend to realize. Many traditional liqueurs today are infused with digestive herbs to help support digestion after a big meal. I created a digestive and overall immune system blend like dandelion, burdock, and yarrow, with lots of yummy warm flavors like cinnamon, ginger, and clove.

I like to use my herbal liqueurs and create a cocktail with them, with super intentional ingredients, maybe kombucha or fruit juice. It’s also great over a little ice.

Have fun creating cocktails that you know are also medicinal and supporting your body. (Of course it defeats the purpose of being medicinal if we are over-consuming, but I also believe in balance. A mindfully crafted cocktail adds so much flare to any occasion. :)

Offered in 8 oz jars.
